From jargon to trust

Clarity isn't simplification, it's depth in plain language
Especially in B2B, we often see the idea: "the more complex, the more credible". Especially in sectors like IT, consultancy or government. But what turns out to be true? Confusing communication creates distance, not trust.
The good news? Clear communication doesn't require content concessions. It does require choices.
What's actually relevant to your client? Where do their doubts, questions and ambitions lie?
Time to sharpen that message. Below are three anchors that help you do that.
1. Choose a hook that sticks
A strong B2B story starts with a clear core message. Not a slogan, but a substantive anchor that gives direction to everything you say.
For example: for a cybersecurity company, we chose the hook "We build trust in digital environments." That one sentence became the common thread in their website, sales story and social content.
Or take Monday.com: “Work without limits”. Abstract? Maybe. But they make it visual and tangible in their content. One idea, carried through completely.
A strong hook is concrete, relevant and repeatable.
2. Think in images, not just words
What you say matters. But how you show it matters twice as much. Images, models and metaphors help make complex ideas accessible.
For a strategic consultancy firm, we chose visual formats and a recognizable tone of voice. Applicants literally said: “I recognized myself on your site.” That's communication that works.
Or take Giovanni – the playful flame mascot we developed for a wellbeing campaign. Not a gimmick, but a recognizable face that made the abstract theme of ‘wellbeing at work’ tangible and easy to talk about.
Imagination works. Also – and especially – in B2B.
3. Write the way you speak
Avoid marketing jargon. Use active sentences, real-world examples and language that fits your audience. Short? Yes. Strong? Absolutely.
Example:
🚫 “We implement future-proof solutions for digital transformation.”
✅ “We build tools that are ready for tomorrow.”
🚫 “Our approach is modular and scalable.”
✅ “You choose what you need. And you can easily expand later.”
Have an outsider summarize your text. If they can't? Then it needs to be simpler.
Clear communication means faster persuasion
Clear B2B communication isn't a nice-to-have. It's your strategic advantage.
- It speeds up your sales process
- It increases your conversion
- It builds trust
- And it makes your brand memorable
